Destroyerclub Happy New Year Chat

Posted in Destroyer books, Destroyer club chat, Destroyer ebooks on January 3, 2017 by destroyerclub

We meet Tuesday, January 3rd at 9PM EST, 8PM CST in the Mibbit chat room.  No need to log in.  In the top box where it says “Nick” type in your name or whatever alias you wish; channel is: #thedestroyerclub.

Bully Pulpit (The Destroyer #151) has been published. You can buy the paperback HERE on Amazon, and also the EBOOK. And on B&N HERE. It has received many five star reviews.

Laughing Matter, the next book in the Legacy series, is being polished and should be out shortly.

Warren Murphy passed away Friday, Sept. 4th. But Chiun, Remo, Smitty and the rest of the marvelous group of characters live on. More books are already in the planning stages.

Jim Mullaney’s latest Crag Banyon Mystery, The Butler Did I.T., is in the proofing/formatting stage. It should be ready sometime this month.  His last Banyon,  Shoot the Moon, is live on Amazon in Kindle and paperback, Createspace, and at Smashwords.  For any of you who don’t know, he’s the author of 25 Destroyer books (#s 111 – 131, plus the four New Destroyers) and The Assassin’s Handbook 2. Pick up your copy today!

Legacy #5: Mother Mine is now available on Amazon on Kindle and in paperback.

Warren Murphy has a new Digger short story out in Fifty Shades of Grey Fedora, an anthology edited by Robert Randisi (Destroyer ghostwriter of #40: Dangerous Games, #43 Midnight Man, and #58 Total Recall).

Shane Black is directing and Jim Mullaney (whose latest Red Menace #5 — Red on the Menu — is out on Amazon, B&N,  and Smashwords) is co-writing (with Jim Uhls) a new Destroyer movie. The movie has a very spartan page on IMDb and James also has a page there.

More Blood: A Sinanju Anthology is up on Amazon in paperback and ebook. We’ve got a really good batch of stories; the authors should be proud of themselves. Destroyer fans are in for a real treat!

Flying Blind, Jim Mullaney’s 6th Crag Banyon mystery is now available in Kindle and paperback on Amazon and in several different formats on Smashwords.

Warren’s writing blog —  How to Start … and Finish… Your Novel:  Complete With  Money-back Guarantee:  Lesson 12  — the final lesson — is up.

Jim Mullaney’s  Devil May Care, his second CragBanyon Mystery, was a runner up for Best Indie PI Novel in last year’s Shamus Awards.

2012 Chat (not new or improved)

Posted in Destroyer club chat on January 3, 2011 by sunnyjoedale

We’ll be meeting  in the Mibbit chat room Tuesday, January 3rd at 9 PM  EST, 8PM CST.   No need to log in.  In the top box where it says “Nick” type in your name or whatever alias you wish, and in the “channel” box type in #thedestroyerclub.

No further news about the series’ new contract.  This week?  We’re hoping something will break soon.  What great New Year’s news that would be for Destroyer fans!

The new contract would include not only novels, but novellas and short stories.  A New Blood 2 is a distinct possibility, so those of you fans who have written a Destroyer story too late for New Blood, Warren would like to see it.  What’s holding things up is they wish to publish Warren’s back catalog of books, not just the previous Destroyers, and they’re having trouble ironing out the rights.  We hope that’s going to be settled ASAP.  More news as it becomes available.

From Jim Mullaney:  Jim’s latest book, One Horse Open Slay is up in Amazon’s Kindle store, as is   The Red Menace #1: Red and Buried.  It seems Red and Buried will be turning up in paperback form in 2012, if this Moonstone page is any indication.

Destroyers #43 through 49 are up on Kindle, including the ever-popular #46: Next of Kin.   Several of the Ballybunnion titles are on Kindle already  They seem to be selling very well.

We’ve  had a couple of surprise visits from Brian Murphy, Warren’s son and Will Murray.  You can read a transcript of the chats, if you’re a member of Dale’s Yahoo group.  Link is here

We’ll be meeting in the Mibbit chat room Tuesday, July 27th, at 9PM EDT, 8PM CDT.   No need to log in.  In the top box where it says “Nick” type in your name or whatever alias you wish, and in the “channel” box type in #destroyerclub.

Don’t forget the IMDB goose (see post below).  It went down 20% in popularity last week, but thanks to some of you checking out the movie, it’s back up 22% this week.

Speaking Volumes has just announced the next four Destroyer audio books.  In no particular order, they are Acid Rock, Funny Money, Next of Kin, and Profit Motive.

Brian has put several of the Ballybunnion titles on Kindle and they seem to be selling very well.  The Assassins Handbook, Assassins Handbook 2 , and  New Blood. Miss Bidwell’s Spirit is also available now and Brian says The Movie That Never Was should be up shortly.  The formatting for the script form is more difficult than a regular book, which has delayed it a little.

Good news!  More signed copied of vintage Destroyer books are on sale at Warren’s site.  These are extremely limited, so get ’em while you can.

Also, check out Warren’s  Facebook page.   Though he’s been sick recently, he’s doing a little better and should be starting to Twitter soon, and — if he can be persuaded — starting a blog.
