We had a great time when Warren Murphy and his sons Brian and Devin, joined us.  We can’t promise anything as exciting this week, but you never know — Brian and/or Devin might check in.

Savage Song, the first new Destroyer in over three years, is up on Amazon and selling very well, it seems.  Warren has a short story in an anthology — Crime Square — which is available now on Amazon.

The same people who have had a Destroyer movie optioned for the past several years have renewed their option. No news yet about it.

Jim Mullaney’s  latest Red Menace book, Drowning in Red Ink,  is up on Amazon and he’s nearly finished the second draft of his second Crag Banyon mystery, Devil May Care.  Check out his other books,  The Red Menace: Red and Buried and One Horse Open Slay.   Jim has started a newsletter to keep fans posted on his books, and also Destroyer news, when it breaks.  You can sign up at the Jim Mullaney Newsletter.

BANYON’S BACK WITH ONE HECK OF A CASE!

For a savvy private investigator like Crag Banyon, tackling cases that are too hot to handle comes with the territory.  But even a plucky P.I. with an occasionally unsavory client roster has his limits.  So when a demon shows up at the front door of Banyon Investigations with a pile of cash and a plea for help, Banyon thinks it could be time to cool things down.  Unfortunately, temptation strikes at the precise moment the rent is overdue, and the landlord — not to mention the power and phone companies and Banyon’s top fifty favorite liquor stores — don’t take IOUs.  Short on cash, he makes a deal with the devil.

Someone’s gone over the wall and escaped from Hell, and the demon prison guards need somebody on the outside to track down their misplaced soul.  Simple missing persons case, right?  Except nothing’s ever simple for Crag Banyon, P.I.  When he’s not being assaulted, mauled, arrested, framed, betrayed, chased and nearly killed, he’s uncovering a conspiracy that extends from this life to the afterlife and all points in between.

Savage Song

Brian was at our Dclub chat tonight.  Warren is close to signing the contract with the publisher, but he doesn’t want to name them until it is signed.  The publisher will be issuing the novels as ebooks and in print. In addition, Warren will be publishing novellas and short stories on Amazon’s Kindle.  We don’t have any information yet on how many new Destroyer works are scheduled per year.

We’re hoping that Warren will make an appearance at the Chat some Tuesday night.  More details on the exact date once we know.

Warren, his brother Devin and him had a meeting yesterday to discuss the new publisher, new Destroyers and make a decision.  Brian will be at the chat on March 6th with firm info to release. He mentioned on The Destroyer Books group on Facebook that it will be good news, either way it goes.
